Nuno ‘concerned but positive’ for injured Awoniyi

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has expressed his concern for injured forward Taiwo Awoniyi, but remains positive about his recovery.

Awoniyi suffered a serious knee injury during a recent training session and is expected to be out for several weeks.

Nuno has praised Awoniyi’s work ethic and determination to return to full fitness as soon as possible.

“It’s always concerning when a player gets injured, especially someone as hard-working and dedicated as Taiwo,” Nuno said.

“But he is a strong character and I have no doubt he will come back stronger than ever.”

The manager also mentioned that the club will provide Awoniyi with all the support and resources needed for his recovery.

Awoniyi, who joined Wolves from Union Berlin in the summer, has been a key player for the team so far this season.

His absence will be a blow for the club, but Nuno remains confident that the squad has enough depth to cope with his absence.

Wolves are currently in the top half of the Premier League table and will be looking to continue their good form in Awoniyi’s absence.

Nuno concluded by saying, “We will miss Taiwo, but we have a strong squad and I know the other players will step up in his absence.”
